Significant Accomplishments:
- Appointed as the Education/Training department order processing point of contact within 2 months of starting at Symantec.
- Increased the Education order accuracy from 10% to 90% through defining process and controls for both Symantec and distributors
- 5 weeks in Bangalore, India to train 8 new reps there
- Created a desk manual and assessment for our team to fulfill Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
- Awarded 1 of 7 Cornerstone awards that Symantec handed out in 2007 for my instrumental role in clearing up hundreds of order issues so that over $1.2 million worth of revenue could be legally recognized
Primary duties encompassed:
- Directing Order Operations and Sales on developing policies and processes for Education orders
- Implementing critical changes to the Education quote to cash process
- Presiding over End of Quarter fiscal reconciliation reports and earnings calls with shareholders/stakeholders.
- Training any new hires on our most critical processes
- In-depth troubleshooting and issue resolution for: Invoicing, PO requirements, Class scheduling, Booking/billing reports, One off Oracle issues
- Facilitating communication, and enforcing Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements, between:
- Revenue
- Credit & Collections
- Accounts Receivable
- Accounts Payable
- Sales, Sales Operations
- Channel Operations
- Upper Management
